The Consensys CEO said Ethereum’s strict decentralization supports a credibly neutral settlement layer and outlined broader ecosystem backing across mainnet, Layer 2, and private Ethereum networks.
Ethereum co-founder and Consensys CEO Joseph Lubin said shared protocols could add “collective capitalism” features to the base economic layer, even as free-market capitalism remains, in his view, the best system. He argued that a truly credibly neutral global coordination and digital-asset settlement platform would be valuable and said Ethereum’s large-scale, strict decentralization makes that possible. Lubin also said more credibly neutral, well-funded organizations will soon join the Ethereum Foundation to support the ecosystem across mainnet, Layer 2 and private Ethereum networks, with near-real-time interoperability and ETH moving freely across them.
