Bastian Aue said the foundation will focus on censorship resistance, open-source development, privacy and security, while addressing toxic MEV, staking centralization and layer-2 dependence; he also made a separate personal year-end fitness pledge.
Ethereum Foundation interim co-executive director Bastian Aue, known as Aerugo, said the organization’s mission is to keep Ethereum as permissionless sovereign infrastructure centered on censorship resistance, open-source development, privacy and security. He said the foundation will prioritize risks including toxic MEV, or harmful maximal extractable value from transaction ordering, weak privacy, staking centralization and dependence on layer-2 scaling networks. The strategy was presented as a way to strengthen network neutrality and could support broader institutional adoption, according to the newer report. Separately, Aue said he would reduce his body fat from about 31% to below 25% by year-end or resign without compensation.
