The infrastructure is designed to let lenders issue blockchain-based deposit representations without replacing core systems, as major U.S. banks target a shared network by the first half of 2027.
Anchorage Digital launched an infrastructure platform on Monday to help banks issue and manage tokenized deposits without overhauling their core banking systems. CEO Nathan McCauley said the setup creates blockchain-based representations of customer deposits while the underlying funds remain in traditional deposit accounts, a structure aimed at enabling around-the-clock payments and settlement. The move comes as major banks including JPMorgan, Citibank and Bank of America plan a shared tokenized deposit network by the first half of 2027.
