Assets under management in U.S. leveraged ETFs have reached a record $198 billion, up 55% since April, highlighting a sharp increase in investor demand for products that magnify daily market moves. Among the biggest gainers, the 3x Leveraged Long Nasdaq 100 ETF, TQQQ, rose to about $40 billion, while the 3x Leveraged Long Semiconductor ETF, SOXL, hit a record $34 billion after tripling since April. QLD also added $7 billion, or 88%, to nearly $15 billion. The figures point to heavy interest in leveraged exchange-traded funds tied to technology and semiconductor exposure, instruments often used for short-term directional bets because they seek to amplify the daily performance of an underlying index or sector.
