The National Police Agency’s fourth tender, now worth 267 million won, drew Dunamu, KODA, KDAC and other bidders after earlier attempts failed to secure a qualifying applicant.
Seven companies are competing to become the private custodian for cryptocurrency seized by South Korea’s National Police Agency under a 267 million won ($179,000) contract, after three earlier tenders in 2025 failed. The bidders are Dunamu, Korea Digital Asset Custody, Korea Digital Asset, BDACS, Hecto Wallet One, Infinit Block and DSRV, with KDAC entering in a consortium with Korbit. The winning firm must keep confiscated assets in cold wallets for a one-year term, maintain 24-hour response capability and assume full financial liability for losses, including those tied to hacking or force majeure. The renewed push follows crypto losses at public agencies, including about 320 Bitcoin missing from the Gwangju District Prosecutors’ Office in January and 22 Bitcoin reported lost by Gangnam District police weeks later.
