The new M Technologies facility is part of a six-unit, 100,000 sq.m. defence complex aimed at positioning Greece in European defence supply chains.
METLEN inaugurated a new M Technologies production unit in Volos on June 24, presenting the facility as a step-up for Greece’s defence industry and as part of a broader push to secure a place in emerging European defence value chains. The company said the Volos site is developing into a vertically integrated defence industrial ecosystem built on 25 years of expertise, with the M Technologies Hub expanding into a six-unit complex covering 100,000 square meters and spanning raw materials processing, manufacturing, assembly and support for complex defence applications. METLEN said full production has now begun at the fourth unit of its defence arm complex, in line with the plan outlined at its Capital Markets Day in London in April 2025. Executive Chairman Evangelos Mytilineos said the project is intended both to support the company’s global market performance and to strengthen Greece’s defence capabilities at a time of shifting geopolitical balances and renewed emphasis on security, self-sufficiency and strategic autonomy. The company added that the expansion reinforces both its own defence footprint and the domestic defence industrial base. METLEN, which is listed in London and Athens and is part of the FTSE 100 Index, reported 2025 revenue of €7.11 billion, EBITDA of €753 million and net profit of €314 million.
