The company’s “Power Now. Nuclear Next.” strategy combines waste heat recovery, conventional-fueled generation and future advanced nuclear systems for data centers, defense, industrial and maritime customers.
AMPERA unveiled its “Power Now. Nuclear Next.” strategy and introduced its proprietary Integrated Energy Architecture, a platform the company says can deliver power immediately while preparing customers for future advanced nuclear deployment. The architecture is built around a common ultra-high-efficiency power conversion system that can use multiple heat sources, combining advanced power conversion, digital engineering, artificial intelligence and modular design. The company said the platform is aimed at rising demand from artificial intelligence infrastructure, data centers, defense, industrial and maritime users. It supports three energy approaches: waste heat recovery (turning unused thermal energy into electricity), conventional-fueled power generation using fuels such as natural gas, and AMPERA’s advanced nuclear energy offering based on a factory-built subcritical microreactor (reactor design that cannot sustain a runaway chain reaction). AMPERA said the model is intended to reduce deployment risk, speed customer adoption and provide a migration path toward nuclear systems as commercialization advances. Initial systems are expected to provide up to 30 MWe, with larger configurations planned over time, and customer deployments are expected to begin before the end of 2027. Founder and CEO Brian Matthews said each system deployed helps bring forward the timeline for advanced nuclear energy commercialization.
