Sentient Foundation unveiled a $42 million grant and investment program aimed at developers, researchers, and companies working on general AI in an open manner. The initiative blends non-dilutive grants with investments, a structure designed to support both early research and commercial deployment while keeping AI infrastructure, models, tools, and applications openly accessible. The effort is backed by Alibaba Cloud, Franklin Templeton, Princeton University, and the Indian Institute of Science.
