At Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich, BIWATT expanded its sodium-ion residential and commercial storage lineup and said it is pursuing UL1973 certification and UL9540A testing for international growth.
BIWATT introduced two new sodium-ion energy storage products at Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich: the residential PowerNest R5 and the commercial and industrial PowerLake I3. The company said the launches build on its earlier PowerNest R2 rack-mounted and PowerNest R3 stackable batteries, which it said are already being commercialized in international markets, and reflect its strategy of participating in cell-level development to set performance, safety and reliability targets early in product design. BIWATT said the PowerNest R5 offers modular scalability, smart battery optimization and active balancing, while the PowerLake I3 is aimed at solar-plus-storage, backup power and decentralized energy projects with flexible deployment and intelligent maintenance features. The company also said it is continuing UL1973 certification and UL9540A testing for its sodium-ion batteries to support further international expansion, and that its sodium-ion products are deployed in more than 20 countries, mainly in Europe.
