AlphaESS outlines Europe shift from storage hardware to software-led energy ecosystem at Intersolar Europe 2026

AlphaESS said it is deepening its European strategy by moving beyond energy storage hardware toward software, connectivity and an ecosystem model after more than a decade of localization in the region. At Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich, the company presented the STORION-LC-TB150 system for commercial and industrial sites, the Aster 6260 platform for utility-scale projects and the AlphaConnect platform linking battery systems, partners and energy markets. The company framed the shift as a response to Europe’s move from standalone battery installations to integrated energy assets, as higher electricity prices, heavier grid loads and more complex tariff structures reshape demand. AlphaESS said its approach combines local market experience, product capabilities and digital integration to improve solar self-consumption, grid flexibility and energy-use optimization. For commercial and industrial users, AlphaESS showcased the liquid-cooled STORION-LC-TB150, rated at 150 kW and 313 kWh, with noise levels of up to 60 dB(A), UL 9540A fire-safety compliance at the module level and a service life of up to 12,000 cycles. In utility-scale storage, the company pointed to a 320 MWh project under development in Chvaletice and Kladno in the Czech Republic and said that experience informed the design of the liquid-cooled Aster 6260, rated at 3.13 MW and 6.26 MWh, with integrated safety functions, remote commissioning and AI-based maintenance tools. AlphaESS also positioned software as its next value layer through AlphaConnect, which offers open APIs for virtual power plant operators, aggregators and third-party systems. The company said the platform is already deeply integrated in the UK with Octopus Energy, supports more than 100 energy partners and platforms, connects more than 100,000 systems across 12 countries, and can bring partners into the ecosystem within four weeks. AlphaESS said its European strategy was further supported by the opening of a subsidiary in Spain, broader activity in the Benelux countries and progress on the Czech project.
