Group 1 highlighted another U.S. dealership rebrand in Texas as part of its nationwide brand alignment initiative, while keeping local teams, day-to-day operations, and customer relationships unchanged.
Group 1 Automotive, Inc. is continuing its U.S. dealership brand alignment initiative, adding Group 1 Honda Kingwood in Texas after previously renaming Honda of Greenbelt in Maryland. The Houston-based automotive retailer said Sterling McCall Honda began operating as Group 1 Honda Kingwood on May 4, 2026, a move intended to create a more consistent customer experience across its retail network and give customers a clearer connection to Group 1’s scale, resources, and operating standards. The company said the rebrand does not change ownership, staffing, product offerings, or daily operations, and that the Kingwood dealership keeps its local team, Honda expertise, and customer relationships in place. Group 1 said it has owned and operated the Kingwood store for more than two decades. The dealership continues operating at 22575 US Highway 59 in Kingwood, Texas, serving Kingwood, Humble, Atascocita, Porter, and surrounding northeast Houston communities with new Honda vehicles, used vehicles, service, parts, maintenance support, financing, and collision-related support, while also offering Kia service. The Greenbelt dealership remains part of the same broader effort, having adopted the Group 1 Honda Greenbelt name effective May 12, 2026. Group 1 said it owns and operates 250 dealerships, 310 franchises, and 32 automotive repair shops in the United States and the United Kingdom, representing 37 vehicle brands.
