The early Ethereum scaling project said the Loopring DEX is ending immediately, with its relayer going offline and eligible user assets to be returned after review as it cites weak adoption and architecture limits.
Loopring, one of Ethereum’s earlier zkRollup scaling projects, said it is shutting down the Loopring DEX effective immediately and taking its relayer offline. The team said the exchange did not achieve meaningful adoption and also pointed to ecosystem constraints from lacking a virtual machine, expected major exchange delistings of LRC in 2026, and the rise of newer zkEVM solutions that it said have made its architecture outdated. Users with balances above $10 are set to receive assets in L1 wallets after a balance review process, with gas fees covered by the team.
