Robinhood said its Trump Account app is now live for eligible U.S. households ahead of July 4 deposits, as qualifying children born from 2025 through 2028 remain eligible for a $1,000 Treasury seed deposit.
Trump Accounts, also known as 530A accounts, are scheduled to launch on July 4 as tax-deferred investment accounts for U.S. children under 18 with a Social Security number. Robinhood said on X that its Trump Account app for iOS and Android is now live for eligible U.S. households, with account activation available and deposits starting on July 4, 2026. Qualifying children born between 2025 and 2028 are eligible for a one-time $1,000 Treasury-funded deposit, while family, friends and employers can contribute up to $5,000 a year in total. Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service have also said qualifying contributions can be made without filing a gift tax return under a new safe harbor. Analysts said the accounts may help children start investing earlier but are unlikely to address structural drivers of women’s lower retirement balances, including lower pay and caregiving-related time out of the workforce.
