Privy has added spending infrastructure that lets users pay with assets parked in DeFi, extending its fintech stack beyond yield access into card-based settlement.
Privy is broadening its fintech infrastructure offering beyond Morpho-powered DeFi yield access by launching a feature that lets users spend assets deposited in DeFi. The new capability allows users to authorize Stripe to redeem vault shares, unwrap assets and withdraw stablecoins from DeFi protocols for payment settlement, while developers can issue spending cards directly connected to users’ DeFi vaults. The prepaid Visa debit card is issued by Lead Bank via Stripe, and early access is open to integrated teams. The move extends Privy's role from helping fintech apps surface onchain yield to supporting consumer payments linked to DeFi-held funds, underscoring how decentralized finance tools are being embedded more directly into mainstream financial products.
