The Series B will support AI tools for fast search and analysis of large video datasets, while a multiyear AWS deal ties the startup’s model workloads to Trainium chips.
Twelve Labs is raising $100 million from investors including Amazon, NEA and Naver Ventures to expand AI tools for rapid search and analysis of large video datasets. The Nvidia-backed San Francisco startup said NEA and Naver Ventures co-led the Series B, and AWS signed a multiyear agreement to run its model workloads on Trainium chips while planning to offer new models on its platform. The deal highlights investor and cloud-provider interest in video-focused AI systems, which can increase demand for specialized computing infrastructure as enterprises process growing volumes of visual data.
