Daqo used a July 1 presentation in Munich to showcase power-distribution equipment aimed at Europe’s push to add renewable energy, energy storage and electrified loads to the grid more quickly while meeting stricter environmental and reliability standards. The company’s main product highlight was the DQS Air Series, an SF6-free (sulfur hexafluoride-free insulating gas) medium-voltage ring main unit using dry-air insulation and vacuum interruption as an alternative to conventional SF6 equipment. Daqo said its sealed, compact design is intended to reduce maintenance needs and support reliable operation across urban distribution networks, renewable energy interconnections, industrial facilities and grid-modernization projects. It also presented an air-insulated SF6-free RMU for secondary distribution networks with flexible configuration, intelligent monitoring and remote-readiness, alongside containerized transformer substation solutions for photovoltaic projects and BESS (battery energy storage systems) that integrate step-up transformers, medium- and low-voltage switchgear, monitoring systems and auxiliary systems in a factory-built unit. For high-power-demand sectors such as data centers, Daqo introduced DQMpower 2.0, a modular power platform combining low-voltage distribution, UPS (battery-backed backup power) functions, power-quality management and monitoring.
