On-chain-tracked trader “sat0shi777,” also identified in newer reporting as whale “0x50b,” saw repeated liquidations on a large Ether short before reportedly closing it with a $9.386 million loss while keeping a leveraged Bitcoin long.
A trader tracked on-chain as “sat0shi777” came under mounting pressure as Ether rose, turning what had been a profitable account into a loss. Earlier reports said a roughly $90 million ETH short, partly offset by a roughly $30 million BTC long hedge, was showing more than $5.5 million in unrealized losses as ETH climbed. Subsequent reporting said the account was liquidated four times, at one stage leaving a remaining $38 million ETH short with a liquidation price of $1,755.75, before newer reporting from HyperInsight said the trader closed that final Ether short with a $9.386 million loss. That latest report said the trade erased a prior cumulative profit peak of $6.75 million and left the account down more than $2.3 million despite a win rate above 90% across more than 100 trades.
