Kim Yong-kwan said this year’s profit should meet market expectations and surpass the chip unit’s cumulative earnings over four decades, as investors track quarterly results, contract terms and memory pricing.
Samsung Electronics expects this year’s operating profit to align with market expectations, with semiconductor strategy head Kim Yong-kwan saying on July 3 that annual profit should meet consensus and exceed the chip business’s cumulative profit over the past 40 years. The market expects Samsung’s 2026 operating profit at about 300 trillion won and second-quarter profit at 84.6 trillion won, compared with an SK Hynix second-quarter consensus of 64.4 trillion won. Investors are also watching earnings, contract terms and memory prices as key indicators for the outlook.
