The integration adds Ripple’s stablecoin to Nuvion’s API-based payments stack as RLUSD expands across the XRP Ledger and Ripple secures MiCA authorization in Luxembourg for access across the European Economic Area.
Nuvion said it integrated Ripple USD, or RLUSD, on July 6 to support faster cross-border settlement, treasury and liquidity management, and embedded blockchain payments for business and fintech clients through a single API. The move adds to RLUSD’s distribution momentum as Ripple’s dollar-pegged stablecoin expands its presence in regulated payments infrastructure. Nuvion said the platform offers multicurrency accounts, global payment rails and compliance infrastructure, allowing clients to connect fiat-based financial services with blockchain settlement in one system. Managing director Keisha Clark said the integration is aimed at giving internationally active businesses faster settlement, greater flexibility and more modern payment capabilities, while Ripple product lead Lauren Berta said stablecoins are becoming increasingly central to demand for faster and more transparent cross-border payments. The announcement comes as RLUSD has grown rapidly since its December 2024 launch. Its supply on the XRP Ledger rose from roughly $20 million in late 2024 to about $800 million by late June 2026, according to XRP treasury company Evernorth. Evernorth said the XRP Ledger now hosts around 51% of RLUSD’s total supply, up from about 17% in April, while monthly RLUSD-related transactions have increased from about 54,000 in December 2024 to between 600,000 and 1.1 million per month in 2026. RLUSD’s share of trading on the network has also climbed from less than 1% to around 12%. The Nuvion integration follows RLUSD’s launch in Japan in late June and coincided with Ripple becoming fully MiCA compliant after securing Crypto Asset Service Provider authorization in Luxembourg under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets framework, giving it regulated access across 30 countries in the European Economic Area. Supporters of XRP are also watching RLUSD’s growth closely because transfers and trading activity on the XRP Ledger use XRP for transaction fees and settlement, linking stablecoin adoption to demand for the network’s native asset.
