Nordic Climate Group acquires Northern Refrigeration Services in Ireland

Donegal-based refrigeration and heat pump specialist Northern Refrigeration Services joins Nordic Climate Group, retaining its local brand and leadership as the buyer expands its UK and Ireland platform.

Nordic Climate Group said it is expanding in Ireland by acquiring Northern Refrigeration Services, a Donegal-based company specializing in refrigeration, heat pumps and heating solutions. Founded in 1965 and led by Gerald McGloin since 1997, the business has nine employees and serves commercial and domestic customers including hotels, data centres, pubs, factories, warehouses and residential properties. It will continue operating under its existing local brand and leadership within Nordic Climate Group. Ronnie Coutts, CEO of Nordic Climate Group UK & Ireland, said the deal strengthens the group’s position in Donegal and the north-west of Ireland and creates opportunities to work with its existing Irish operations, including Anglo-Irish Refrigeration. Nordic Climate Group, founded in 2021, operates at more than 100 local sites with around 2,500 employees across 10 European countries and reports turnover of about EUR 650 million.
