BTQ completes acquisition of French quantum software company QPerfect

The deal adds QPerfect’s MIMIQ emulator, Digital Twin modeling and Quantum Logical Unit framework to BTQ’s quantum-ready infrastructure stack and makes the Strasbourg-based company a wholly owned subsidiary.

BTQ Technologies Corp. said it has completed its acquisition of QPerfect SA, a Strasbourg-based French quantum computing company focused on quantum software, emulation, digital twin capabilities and control systems. The closing follows BTQ’s earlier strategic investment in QPerfect and its exercise of an option to buy the remaining outstanding securities, with QPerfect now operating as a wholly owned subsidiary. BTQ said the purchase expands its technology stack with three core capabilities: MIMIQ, QPerfect’s quantum emulator; Digital Twin, a software-based quantum system modeling tool; and Quantum Logical Unit, or QLU (multi-layer quantum control framework). The company said those tools are intended to support testing and validation for quantum-ready infrastructure, including next-generation TLS handshakes, PQC (post-quantum cryptography) migration validation, quantum-safe communications, interoperability testing and hybrid quantum-classical network environments. The company framed the transaction as part of its effort to prepare classical network infrastructure for a transition to trusted quantum systems, arguing that post-quantum cryptography adoption brings implementation challenges such as larger keys, heavier computing requirements and more complex handshakes. BTQ said QPerfect’s software, modeling and control technologies could help make quantum-secure systems more practical to deploy in sectors including defense, telecommunications and critical infrastructure. BTQ also said the acquisition strengthens its European research presence in Strasbourg and gives it deeper access to talent, research partnerships and expertise across quantum simulation, neutral atom computing and control systems. QPerfect, founded in 2023 and recognized with the i-Lab Grand Prix, cited recent research and collaborations tied to its roadmap, including work on noise tailoring and error correction for neutral-atom architectures.
