Heavy XAUT outflows from exchanges point to renewed tokenized-gold accumulation, though large holders have also sold sizable amounts over the past day and month.
Wallets linked to Abraxas Capital withdrew about 3,931 XAUT, valued at roughly $15.96 million to $15.97 million, from four exchanges in transfers flagged by OnchainLens and later cited by Lookonchain. The July 8 movements included 760.244 XAUT from Bitfinex, 940.207 XAUT from OKX, 230 XAUT from Bybit and 2,001 XAUT from Binance, with OnchainLens saying the transfers occurred within eight minutes. Separately, Lookonchain said whale wallet 0xD20E withdrew 953 XAUT worth about $3.93 million from Binance over the past three days after three years of inactivity. Broader flow data adds to the accumulation narrative: Nansen showed XAUT posted $17.4 million in net exchange outflows over the past 24 hours, around 16 times its average daily level, and $34.1 million over seven days, more than four times its typical weekly pace. At the same time, selling by other large holders complicates the picture, with one holder offloading about 2,900 XAUT worth roughly $11.8 million in 24 hours, another reducing 757 XAUT, and wallets 0x77134c and 0x28c6c0 each shedding more than 5,000 XAUT over 30 days. XAUT tracks physical gold, so its direction is closely tied to spot bullion prices, which posted mixed performance in July as early gains gave way to declines amid escalating US-Iran tensions.
