Barcelona signs Karim Adeyemi from Dortmund in deal worth up to €29 million

Barcelona has signed Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth up to €29 million, made up of a fixed €22 million fee and as much as €7 million in performance-based add-ons. The 24-year-old German-Nigerian forward has signed a five-year contract after leaving Dortmund following four seasons and 36 goals in the Bundesliga. Barcelona’s initial offer was about €20 million, but the transfer was reshaped by Adeyemi’s insistence on joining only the Spanish club. With the player entering the final year of a contract that expires in June 2027, Dortmund faced the prospect of losing him for no fee 12 months later and accepted a lower guaranteed amount than its earlier valuation. Adeyemi scored 10 goals and supplied 6 assists in the 2025/26 Bundesliga season. Barcelona director Deco and Jorge Mendes handled the negotiations, and Adeyemi was reported to be awaiting medical examinations before the move is formally completed.
