The rollout adds PYUSD to Polygon’s Open Money Stack, aiming to support cross-border transfers, payments and fund collection with the stablecoin as a native network asset.
All key elements of the claim are directly confirmed by the official Polygon blog and the official @0xPolygon X account, plus a Polygon retweet of Paxos. The Polygon blog explicitly states PYUSD, issued by Paxos under federal OCC supervision, is now natively available on Polygon Chain via the Open Money Stack, on a network settling over $2.5B in daily stablecoin volume, dated July 9, 2026. CryptoPotato independently corroborates the native launch through Paxos and the Open Money Stack. Every claim component (July 9 rollout, PYUSD on Polygon, Paxos issuance, Open Money Stack, >$2.5B daily settlement) matches the primary sources.
PayPal USD (PYUSD) is now natively issued on Polygon, expanding PayPal’s stablecoin onto the network’s Open Money Stack in a move aimed at making cross-border transfers, payments and fund collection easier for businesses. The setup means companies using Polygon can access PYUSD as a native asset rather than a bridged token, reducing bridge-related security risks while benefiting from faster and cheaper transactions than Ethereum’s base layer. Polygon said its infrastructure has processed more than $2.6 trillion in stablecoin payments, while PYUSD’s supply is about $3 billion. Paxos Trust Company handles issuance, and PYUSD is backed by U.S. dollar deposits, short-term U.S. Treasuries and cash equivalents, with monthly attestations by independent firms.
