The Solana token tied to a viral Seattle raccoon has since pulled back to about an $11 million valuation, after heavy Pump.fun-driven trading and social-media-fueled momentum.
Solana-based meme coin JIMOTHY the Raccoon, which previously surged from about $60,000 to more than $22 million in market capitalization within 24 hours, has since pulled back while still posting sharp gains as viral attention around a Seattle raccoon spilled into crypto markets. New market data cited by BeInCrypto showed the token up 186% over 24 hours with market capitalization near $11 million, 24-hour trading volume above $36 million and an all-time high of $0.0217 after rising more than 50-fold from its low. Its supply is near 1 billion tokens and it ranked 1,117th by market capitalization. Anonymous developers launched the token this week on Pump.fun, where exposure on the platform's trending page and a repost from Pump.fun's official X account helped bring it to a wider pool of Solana traders. The raccoon was filmed earlier this week by Seattle resident Kiana Hall near a Ballard neighborhood Goodwill. Marcie Logsdon, an associate professor at Washington State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital, said the animal likely has short spine syndrome, a rare congenital condition that shortens the spine and limits mobility, adding: “I was surprised and honestly a little bit inspired that he is that resilient”. Earlier reporting in the topic cited CoinGecko data on July 17 showing the token trading at about $0.02, with market capitalization around $21 million and 24-hour volume of roughly $27 million, and also cited a report that one trader turned $3,080 into $264,000. No official connection has been confirmed between the raccoon, the original video uploader and the entity behind the token. The episode highlights how viral internet moments can rapidly feed Solana meme-coin trading, though similar animal- and headline-driven tokens have often cooled once attention fades.
