The trader said he exited Bitcoin and altcoin shorts at a profit, restarted long-term spot BTC buying and expects the market bottom could form earlier than the widely anticipated September-October window.
Crypto trader Doctor Profit said he has closed all of his cryptocurrency short positions, including Bitcoin shorts opened in the $115,000-$125,000 and $79,000-$82,000 ranges, along with more than 100 altcoin shorts, describing the exits as profitable. He said he also rebought spot Bitcoin at $64,000, calling it his first long-term Bitcoin investment since September 2025, and plans to buy spot daily with 5% of his total investment capital for as many as 20 days while BTC remains between $54,000 and $64,000, with purchases set to increase if the price moves closer to $54,000. Doctor Profit said he is stepping in earlier than the broader market expects because crowded expectations for a September or October four-year-cycle bottom and a $40,000-$50,000 target could cause the market to behave differently. He cited clearer crypto regulation, progress in asset tokenization infrastructure and growing institutional adoption as structural reasons for turning bullish again, and said he is withdrawing his earlier call for Bitcoin to fall into the $40,000-$50,000 range.
