Gorae said on July 24 it plans to migrate usage and settlement data from more than 50,000 EV chargers in South Korea onto blockchain infrastructure, with each charging session settled on Sui and related charging records stored on Walrus in a verifiable format. The phased rollout is due to begin in the second half of this year with major charging point operators in South Korea. Gorae said the system will add verification and settlement functions to operators' existing management platforms rather than replace chargers or operating equipment. The company says the move is intended to address fragmented EV charging data, speed reconciliation, and make charger utilization and profitability easier for investors to verify, before a planned expansion into Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America.
