METLEN and HOUTRIS sign Cyprus defence manufacturing partnership

The companies plan a joint venture in Cyprus to build defence manufacturing capacity, starting with military vehicles under the European SAFE programme and broader equipment integration, support and maintenance work.

Summary

METLEN said its defence arm, M Technologies, signed an Exclusive Partnership Agreement with Cyprus-based HOUTRIS to establish a joint company in the Republic of Cyprus and expand the country’s capacity to manufacture, integrate and support defence equipment. The partnership is intended to deepen defence-industrial cooperation between Greece and Cyprus, combining M Technologies’ international programme experience with HOUTRIS’ manufacturing base in Cyprus. The companies said the arrangement includes know-how transfer and specialist-skills development to strengthen Cyprus’ defence industrial base. Under the European SAFE programme, the new entity will move ahead with military vehicle production, while also exploring additional opportunities in defence-system production, integration, maintenance and support in Cyprus and the wider region.
