Polkadot launches Products Devnet public sandbox for app testing

Polkadot has launched Products Devnet, a public sandbox environment that lets developers worldwide build and test applications ahead of an upcoming production network rollout without using real money or putting real assets at risk. The devnet was launched by the Paseo team with the Polkadot Community Foundation and is built on Paseo, Polkadot’s community-run testnet. It expands access to tools that were previously tested with around 900 people at the 2026 Web3 Summit in Berlin, where participants used Polkadot-based products for payments, communication and identity verification. Developers can use the Product SDK, command-line tools, developer versions of Polkadot’s Mobile, Desktop and Web applications, and services including DotNS for .dot domains, the CDM contract registry and identity integrations. DOT fell 3.41% to about $0.8116 at the time of reporting, while trading volume dropped roughly 9.41% to around $62.25 million.
