Summary

Bitwise Asset Management’s first quarterly staking report said Ethereum staking reached a record 40.2 million ETH, equal to 33% of total supply, with new staking in 2026 driven mainly by institutions such as staking ETFs, corporate treasuries and other large holders. The report also showed Solana leading staking participation at 68% and highlighted a sharp expansion in Solana’s tokenized equity market, where on-chain trading volume rose from $1.34 million to $3.32 billion over the prior 12 months. Fresh figures added that Solana-based tokenized stock trading hit a record $3.3 billion last month, up from $670 million in April, and reached $4.9 billion in the first half, more than six times the $775 million recorded in the second half of last year. Japan’s SBI Holdings has also agreed to work with the Solana Foundation to build on-chain financial infrastructure in Japan, including joint plans around yen-linked stablecoins and tokenized assets. Separate data published earlier showed tokenized equities deposited on Solana lending protocols reached a record $53 million, suggesting the assets are increasingly being used as collateral rather than only for trading.
