Slovakia recorded a trade surplus of EUR 372.9 million in June 2026, down from EUR 445.8 million in the same month of 2025 as imports grew faster than exports. Exports rose 8.2% year on year to EUR 10.1 billion, helped by a more than 6% increase in motor vehicle shipments. Sales to EU member states grew by over 11%, while shipments to non-EU countries slipped 0.2%. Imports increased 9.5% to EUR 9.7 billion, led by a nearly 6% rise in machinery and transport equipment purchases. Imports from EU countries climbed by more than 11%, and those from non-EU countries rose 6%. Despite the narrower June balance, Slovakia's trade surplus for the first half of 2026 widened to EUR 1.67 billion from EUR 1.32 billion a year earlier.
