U.S. semiconductor, memory and optical communication shares all moved higher in Friday premarket trading on Aug. 7, with optical communication stocks leading the advance. Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) rose 15.5%, Coherent (COHR) gained 5.07%, Lumentum (LITE) added 4.91%, Astera Labs (ALAB) climbed 2.36% and Credo (CRDO) rose 2.07%. Semiconductor names posted smaller gains, including LRCX up 1.22%, INTC up 1.17%, AMAT up 1.43% and ARM up 1.77%. Memory stocks also strengthened, with SKHY up 0.21%, MU up 1.28%, WDC up 2.1%, SNDK up 2.15% and STX up 0.94%, BIT (bit.com) data showed.
