Mazrael, described as a long-time SHIB community member and Shiba Eternity advisor, said a legacy Shiba Inu website link is now creating a false impression that the project is no longer active. The domain, shibatoken.com, was registered three days after SHIB launched in August 2020 and had for years redirected users to shib.io, the main portal for the SHIB ecosystem. Mazrael said that setup led partners, listings and directories to use the legacy link for the SHIB mainnet, but the redirect was severed in April 2026 and the page now shows a takedown notice. Based on domain records cited in the post, the page was last updated on April 17, 2026. Mazrael said the issue was not caused by neglect or an expired registration, adding that the domain was locked against transfer and paid through 2027. He argued that the change silently turned a large number of valid ecosystem references into dead ends, writing: "One switch. Thousands of broken doors," and warning that users reaching the page could wrongly conclude that SHIB is dead. He also pointed to Zama, a Shiba Inu partner whose page still lists the shibatoken.com address for the SHIB mainnet. The comments come as Shiba Inu legacy domains are being decommissioned and shib.io has become the primary portal to the ecosystem, including ShibaSwap and Shibarium. Mazrael urged the community to ask exchanges, wallets, explorers, partners and listing platforms to review and update SHIB-related links.
