Cypher cardholders have until Aug. 7 to make purchases and until Sept. 6 to withdraw balances, claim rewards and secure access to self-custody wallets after payments company Nium acquired the crypto card and wallet provider. The wind-down applies to physical and virtual Cypher Cards, business cards and Osmosis Pay cardholders using the same card infrastructure. Cypher says customer funds remain safe and can be withdrawn without a Cypher fee, with card-balance withdrawals settling in USDC on Base and typically arriving within 24 to 48 hours. Users also need to claim CYPR rewards, unlocked CYPR and protocol incentives before Sept. 6, when Cypher says its app, dApp, business platform, protocol, governance, rewards program and token support will end. While a broader termination notice says the card will be deactivated on Sept. 6, Cypher’s operating timeline and an Osmosis Pay reminder both point to Aug. 7 as the final spending day, making that the practical cutoff for purchases.
