The partners ended a planned CRO treasury company, dropped Truth Social prediction market ambitions and halted a related ETF servicing arrangement as crypto markets cooled.
Trump Media & Technology Group, Crypto.com and Yorkville Acquisition have abandoned plans to launch Trump Media Group CRO Strategy, a proposed digital-asset treasury company billed as a vehicle to buy large amounts of CRO. Earlier descriptions put the treasury at about $1 billion of the token, while the latest report characterized the venture as aimed at buying billions of dollars of CRO. The companies also dropped plans to bring prediction market contracts to Truth Social and ended a related arrangement for Crypto.com to service certain anticipated Yorkville America ETF offerings. The retreat comes as bitcoin has fallen nearly half from last year's peak to around $65,000, enthusiasm for token-hoarding stock vehicles has faded, and Trump Media is refocusing on media, data licensing and its proposed merger with fusion-energy firm TAE; CRO fell more than 4% after Friday's announcement.
