Premier League champions Arsenal have announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United on a long-term contract. The 28-year-old agreed to a four-year deal with an option for an additional season, while British media reported a transfer fee of about $101.16 million. Arsenal Sporting Director Andrea Berta highlighted Guimaraes's ability to play as both a defensive midfielder and a box-to-box player, saying his arrival would strengthen Mikel Arteta's squad and increase internal competition. Guimaraes joined Newcastle from Olympique Lyonnais in January 2022, made 195 appearances and scored 31 goals, and captained the club to the 2025 League Cup title. His departure follows Newcastle's exits of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali and manager Eddie Howe, who was replaced by Matthias Jaissle.
