Competition between pump.fun and FOMO is emerging as a broader test of whether onchain finance can move from a niche Crypto Twitter activity into a mainstream consumer product. Alliance co-founder Imran said on X that the rivalry could become an important force in bringing onchain finance to a wider audience, adding that growth in trading-focused creators and content such as Market Bubble and Counterparty could expand the sector by at least an order of magnitude. The comments follow scrutiny of pump.fun’s incentive program aimed at pulling users from FOMO. A disclosed protocol document showed eligible users could receive a one-time $20,000 signing bonus and $30,000 in monthly pay if they migrated funds and positions to pump.fun, used a new exclusive wallet linked to X, closed their FOMO accounts, avoided rival platforms with that wallet, accepted a non-disparagement clause, and met trading activity thresholds. The push came as pump.fun remained the top-earning meme launchpad with $6.49 million in seven-day revenue, while FOMO climbed to $2.64 million and Flap reached $1.39 million, according to DefiLlama data cited in the earlier report.
