Bifrost said a hacker exploited a liquidity pool vulnerability at 19:47 Beijing time on Aug. 8 and stole about 881,150 DOT, worth roughly $720,000 at the time, from the vDOT single-asset pool and the vASTR/ASTR and vMANTA/MANTA pools. The project said the assets were later deposited into HitBTC and ultimately flowed to Binance, and that it has submitted formal freeze and recovery requests to relevant exchanges while working directly with their compliance and security teams. Bifrost also said it has provided law enforcement with a report and an on-chain evidence package including transaction tracing, wallet addresses and timestamps, halted all liquidity mining rewards, and begun a comprehensive security review. It added that vDOT remains fully backed on a 1:1 basis and was not affected by the exploit.
