Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said crypto has already widened global financial access through stablecoins, decentralized finance, tokenized stocks and Bitcoin, arguing the technology is giving users outside traditional financial systems cheaper dollar transfers, broader credit access, exposure to U.S. equities and an alternative store of wealth. In a Sunday post on X, Armstrong said stablecoins let people anywhere hold a low-inflation currency and send it 24/7 for a fraction of a cent, DeFi can extend credit services to people without traditional banking relationships, tokenized stocks could reach 4 billion people without brokerage access, and Bitcoin's fixed supply helps protect savings from inflation. His comments come as stablecoins gain traction in emerging-market savings and cross-border payments, while institutional firms increasingly explore tokenized equities, crypto payment rails and structured Bitcoin products.
