Coinsbuy said unauthorized withdrawals from several Ethereum and TRON wallets on Aug. 9, 2026 were fully covered from its own reserves, allowing deposits and withdrawals to resume after a temporary pause. Blockchain investigators linked the cross-chain theft to a single actor and estimated losses at more than $7.9 million, with later analysis putting the total at about $8.07 million after more than 6 million USDT was drained on TRON and 1.89 million USDT plus 77 ETH was taken on Ethereum. Researchers said funds moved through Bridgers, FixedFloat, ChangeNOW and BingX, that ChangeNOW helped freeze a six-figure amount, and that some assets were later converted into Monero, while about 282.2 ETH remained unmoved across five addresses. Coinsbuy offered a $100,000 reward for information identifying those responsible and said it will disclose technical details only after its investigation is complete and independently verified.
