Stablecoin market capitalization has fallen by nearly $15 billion since May, dropping from about $280 billion to $266 billion, on-chain analyst Darkfost said on Aug. 10. He said the sector had already moved largely sideways from October 2025 to May 2026, a pattern that indicated either no new liquidity entering the market or inflows that were too weak to support expansion. With stablecoin market value now turning lower, Darkfost said the issue has shifted from weak inflows to outright liquidity leaving the crypto market. He added that demand has not recovered even as Bitcoin stabilizes, and said that weakness is limiting Bitcoin's rebound.
