The Netherlands’ annual inflation rate for July 2026 was revised up to 3.2% from a preliminary 3.1%, accelerating from 2.9% in June. Statistics Netherlands said price pressures were driven by a faster rise in motor fuel prices, a rebound in energy costs, and higher housing and services prices. Motor fuel prices rose 22% year on year after a 17.3% increase in June, while energy prices returned to positive annual growth at 1.1% after a 1.8% decline. Housing, water and energy costs increased 4.1%, services rose 3.8%, food and non-alcoholic beverages gained 2.5%, and core inflation stood at 3.5%. The expansion of import duties on consumer goods ordered from outside the European Union also added to inflation. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 1.6% in July after a 0.6% decline in June.
