Thermo Fisher Scientific is targeting a 15%-20% increase in its customer base in India over the next five years, underscoring how the country is becoming a larger market for laboratory and drug-development suppliers. The company said it also expects continued double-digit growth in India, supported by demand from biopharma, semiconductor and clean energy customers, while rising activity around obesity drugs is adding another growth avenue for pharmaceutical-related business. India is already among Thermo Fisher's fastest-growing markets, and the company plans to expand its workforce there, especially in customer-facing roles. Thermo Fisher employs more than 5,000 people in India. Globally, the U.S. remains its biggest market, while Asia-Pacific contributes about 18% of revenue.
