President Donald Trump's foreign real-estate licensing income reached $59.5 million in 2025, up 71% from 2024 and nearly tenfold from 2023, as developers paid to use his name on luxury towers, golf courses and resorts, with nearly two-thirds of the total coming from Gulf projects. CNBC said $25.8 million was tied to Saudi Arabia's Dar Al Arkan and Dar Global, $11.3 million to UAE developer Damac, and smaller amounts to Qatar, Oman and a $5 million Vietnam golf project; four newly disclosed Trump-affiliated licensing LLCs generated $20.25 million, or 82% of the increase, while five previously inactive LLCs added $9.64 million. The expansion followed the Trump Organization's reversal of its first-term pledge to pursue "no new foreign deals whatsoever" and has sharpened scrutiny over conflicts of interest and the Foreign Emoluments Clause (constitutional bar on certain foreign benefits), although CNBC said it found no evidence that the payments influenced administration decisions or produced special treatment, and the White House said "the only special interest guiding" Trump's decisions is "the best interest of the American people."
