Taiwan Mobile remained the most profitable of Taiwan's three major telecom operators through July, reporting cumulative EPS of NT$3.32, ahead of Chunghwa Telecom's NT$3.11 and Far EasTone Telecommunications' NT$2.46. Chunghwa, however, added new momentum details after posting record July consolidated revenue of NT$19.88 billion, up 3.7% from a year earlier, with monthly EPS of NT$0.43 and first-seven-month revenue of NT$141.24 billion and net profit attributable to the parent of NT$24.09 billion. The company said cumulative revenue, operating income, pre-tax income and EPS all exceeded annual financial guidance. It attributed growth to strong iPhone 17 and other consumer electronics sales, AI-driven shipment gains at subsidiaries, asset revitalization, continued 5G speed-upgrade take-up, firmer roaming demand, and rising broadband usage. Revenue from network resilience services also grew at a double-digit rate, supported by the SJC2 and Apricot submarine cables and expanding satellite services, while a July memorandum with the Taiwan Stock Exchange to build a backup data center in Taichung underscored its push in IDC and disaster-recovery services. Far EasTone continued to benefit from higher 5G penetration, ARPU growth and digital services, and analysts expect second-half momentum to remain supported by device launches, broadband demand and AI-linked enterprise spending.
