Anthropic, Macquarie Asset Management and GIC have formed Theseus Infrastructure, a platform designed to develop, operate and lease data center infrastructure for Anthropic at scale under long-term agreements. The initial focus is the United States, where the partners plan to identify and develop sites with Anthropic as the anchor tenant. Funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management, together with GIC, will own the platform and provide the majority of the equity for each project. The companies said the buildout will require significant capital investment, create thousands of construction jobs and permanent operational roles, and support rising demand for Anthropic’s Claude large language model. Anthropic also said it will cover electricity price increases that consumers otherwise may face from these sites, in line with commitments announced earlier this year.
