GnosisDAO is voting on whether to spin off Gnosis App into an independent company led by its original team under governance proposal GIP-152. The vote is scheduled to close at 14:19 UTC on Aug. 12 and requires a quorum of 75,000 votes to take effect. The proposal says GnosisDAO would invest $1.5 million in cash and contribute product and intellectual property valued at $1 million, receiving at least 25% equity through a SAFE at a post-money valuation of $10 million. It would also fully separate the app from Gnosis Ltd's annual budget of $3.1 million. The new company would focus on self-custody payments and card services, with 18 months of funding mainly earmarked for the team, compliance operations and customer acquisition, while continuing to support usage through Gnosis Pay and Gnosis Chain. Current Snapshot results show about 66% of votes in favor.
