Solana Name Service said it will suspend new .sol domain registrations on Aug. 17 to take an eligibility snapshot covering only names registered before the pause. After the snapshot, users will be able to check whether they qualify for a new round of benefits or upgrades. The team said .sns registrations are expected to resume in mid-September, with more details to be announced later, and warned users to avoid fake claim links. SNS said it will not ask users to sign transactions or pay fees to claim new .sol domains.
