Galaxy said it has committed $50 million to USHP through USHP Limited’s pre-launch institutional round, backing what it described as the first digital asset referencing a U.S. home-price index. The project is aimed at giving eligible non-U.S. investors liquid, indexed exposure to the roughly $55 trillion U.S. residential housing market without directly owning or managing property. Galaxy framed the investment as part of a broader push to move capital markets on-chain and connect idle stablecoin capital to real-world assets with what it called durable, exogenous yield. USHP is set to launch on Ethereum and is designed to offer exposure to U.S. home prices, an asset class that has historically been difficult to access through simple index products. Existing alternatives such as homebuilder stocks and REITs can introduce company-specific risks and broader equity-market exposure rather than direct housing-price exposure. The firm said Galaxy and its affiliates hold equity in Index Industries, are participating in the pre-launch round for USHP, and expect to serve as an institutional minter of and liquidity provider for the product, for which they may receive compensation. USHP is issued by USHP Limited, a British Virgin Islands company and subsidiary of the USHP Foundation, and is not available in the United States or to U.S. persons. The $50 million commitment is based on a total amount to be disbursed over time, and the actual disbursement amount may vary.
