Analysts said on Aug. 11 that Bitcoin's decline was driven mainly by expanding net spot selling on Binance and OKX, alongside institutional profit-taking after recent gains, while Coinbase remained in net buying territory. Data also showed stronger Bitcoin futures buying during the pullback, with some large investors, or whales, adding long positions, suggesting parts of the market were using the weakness to build exposure. Against the softer broader market, CRV and ICP outperformed as fresh capital, higher trading activity and project-specific catalysts supported selective altcoin demand.
